About Us
Hi!
I'm Susan, a passionate dog lover and Registered Veterinary Technician. My husband, Kyle, and I live with our dogs on 13+ acres, 30 minutes from Grande Prairie, Alberta. I've been working in the Veterinary field since 2007 and I became a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2013; since then I have worked in both mixed animal and small animal practises. I've been in a number of different career roles over the years including a hands on technician, mid-management, and team leader. More recently I've been able to explore my passion for canine reproduction and genetics.
I can remember even as a little girl wanting to get into the world of dog sports. After many years of researching and even more years of waiting we finally got our first Karelian, Rohmoivan Evita. She came to us from Northern Finland, and she is as true to type as one can be - we call her our wild child for a reason. After Evita, again with many years of waiting, we got our boy Silverado De La Fortea "Nalle". Nalle was a true joy and had excelled as a show dog more than I could have ever imagined. Unfortunately, shortly after his first birthday we found out that Nalle was ill, then after many months of diagnostics his life ended earlier than we had hoped.
We began searching for a new male and several months later we welcomed Joenrannan Pikki to our family. Pikki comes to us from Finland and has many generations of working dogs behind him. We have very high hopes for Evita and Pikki to lay the foundation for our kennel.
In addition to the daily hustle and bustle with our dogs we enjoy traveling across western Canada and internationally to compete at various dog shows and sports.
I look forward to the many years ahead of us and our small kennel!
